I’m a big fan of talented social media marketing, and it can be done in so many different ways. If you fancy a laugh, or are looking for new social media marketing inspiration for your business, check out these accounts below.
Here are a few of my favourite business accounts on social media because of their clever, colourful, and/or witty marketing tricks.
KFC’s 11 Herbs & Spices
Yes, I’m talking about Kentucky Fried Chicken. Do you know how KFC’s secret recipe has 11 herbs and spices? Well, their social media profile on Twitter is following 11 herbs and spices. This cracks me up every time! They are following 5 of the Spice Girls, and six guys named Herb. Go check it out for yourself here.
Queensland Police, make me laugh?
This one I’ve brought with me all the way from my home country, Australia. More specifically, my home state of Queensland. I am talking about the Queensland Police Service. Maybe not the kind of business you would expect to be on this list, but it just goes to show that no matter what your business does, you can make your social media marketing engaging for your target audience. What on earth am I talking about? There are quite a few articles online that have published loads of old Facebook posts from Queensland Police (like this one here), just because they are hilarious. Scrolling through their current news, a lot of it seems like doom and gloom as you would expect from a police service, except for this wee beauty below. Why would they do this? Because when they have something important and serious to share, they have a more engaged audience on social media that are actually paying attention to what they write. That’s a social media win.
Sprouts love their shades
By shades, I’m talking colours not glasses, and by Sprouts, I’m meaning Sprouts Farmers Market’s Instagram account. Who doesn’t like a bit of arranged colour on an instagram profile? Sprouts certainly don’t! Their Instagram account is an extremely aesthetically appealing one, and with over 182,000 followers, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks so.
MISSGUIDED knows their market
Even if you’re not a fan of this fashion label, you can definitely appreciate the social media marketing behind it and the fact that they know their target audience pretty well! Fun, witty, attractive, independent, and playful are the words that spring to mind when describing their Instagram account. Is that what you think about their brand too? I imagine that is what they are going for. Take this wee post below for example.
Big tick for Nike
We all know the saying ‘Just do it’, and most of us will automatically think of Nike once it’s said. That alone shows that their brand is strong. Their social media marketing is no different, and they use it to enhance their brand which just grows from strength to strength. My favourite part? Their inspirational, powerful and intelligent video campaigns on YouTube. Just like this one below. But check out their actual profile on YouTube too, even the way their videos are arranged makes it very user friendly. Another big tick for Nike.
In short, social media inspiration is out there. You just need to decide what style you’d like to take for your business, and then get out there and go for it. After all, there is nothing worse than a dormant social media account for your business. Would you trust a brand with no online activity?
