Emma Ives
Enterprise Manager
Emma Ives joins Bright Red Triangle as Enterprise Manager, having supported social enterprise start-ups over the last few years. She helps support entrepreneurs to develop from idea to reality, and brings a passion for embedding social and environmental impacts into all businesses.
Emma was a business advisor with Firstport, Scotland’s agency for social enterprise start-ups, and delivered support as part of the Scottish Government funded Just Enterprise consortium. Emma believes in a person-centred approach, where the client is the expert and the business advisor supports them to realise their potential.
Emma’s background is in project management, training management and research. Most recently Emma worked with Inari Collective on their youth-led Safe Space for LGBTQ+ neurodivergent young people in Inverness, on a partnership between Firstport and The Challenges Group on Ready To Rise a Pathways Fund programme to encourage women to consider social entrepreneurship.
Emma’s research experience spans academia and industry. She has a Ph.D. in Management from the University of St Andrews in partnership with Dundee Contemporary Arts, and a postgraduate diploma in Career Guidance and Development. Through consultancy work, she has supported organisations to achieve their ambitions, including work for Scottish Contemporary Arts Network, BOP consulting and Vis-à-vis Agency.
