The SDG5 Living Lab, a pioneering initiative born from the partnership between Edinburgh Napier University and Women's Enterprise Scotland, is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 5 - Gender Equality.
Our mission is to advance Sustainable Development Goal 5 – Gender Equality, by fostering a supportive environment for women within our Edinburgh Napier community. Through cross-departmental research and external partnerships, we aim to address critical areas such as women's leadership, entrepreneurship, governance, STEM, and more.
We are dedicated to cultivating an inclusive environment where women entrepreneurs thrive, offering cutting-edge resources, tailored training, and transformative opportunities. Join us on our journey towards a future where women's empowerment knows no bounds.
Join us in celebrating the launch of the SDG5 Living Lab, a pioneering initiative by Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) and Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) aimed at fostering gender equality in entrepreneurship.

Courses
Business Creation Course - 6 Weeks
The business creation course is delivered by certified gender-aware advisers and provides support for those interested in starting a business and those already in the start-up process. For those at the pre-start stage the course will help with ideas generation and matching existing skills to the skills needed when running a business. The sessions will be delivered by Women’s Enterprise Scotland who help thousands of women across Scotland to start and grow their own businesses
Topics covered during the course include: individual skills assessment and development plan; idea generation and assessment; business planning; attracting customers and pricing.
Leadership Course - 4 sessions
The Leadership course is designed to assist women to grow their leadership skills, progress their careers and play their part in the University achieving sustainable growth. The training will help participants increase their confidence in leadership by enabling them to strategically analyse their role against the University vision.
Support will be provided to develop, implement and evaluate strategies to achieve University goals using models and tools.
