Business Creation Course
Development Course for Women and non-binary people
Learn how to create your own business. Whether you are already starting a business or interested in applying existing skills to business creation, this course is for you.
Create your ideal job instead of trying to find it.
Everyone welcome – no previous experience necessary. We will work with you to help you turn an interest into a business.
“But I’m not a business-person”
You’ll be surprised at how many skills you already have! Running a business isn’t that different from running a home. We’ll help and support you all the way.
“But I don’t have an idea”
We’ll help you think of some ideas either related to your interests or by identifying gaps in the market. Wherever your passion lies, we’ll work with you to make a business out of it.
The business creation course is delivered by certified gender-aware advisers and provides support for those interested in starting a business and those already in the start-up process. For those at the pre-start stage the course will help with ideas generation and matching existing skills to the skills needed when running a business. Participants will be encouraged to assess the value of skills they have already and consider, in a safe space, how those skills or knowledge seams or interests could be converted into a business idea.
Those attending will be part of a group of women all with the aim of identifying a business idea and starting up a business. For those already actively starting up a business, the course provides information and practical insights on key topics such as business planning, attracting customers and goal setting.
The course will be delivered over eight sessions with dates outlined below. The sessions will be delivered by certified gender-aware advisors from Bright Red Triangle.
Topics covered during the course include: idea generation; business planning; and understanding customers.
